Casall showed his exceptional jumping ability and quality right from the start when he was approved in Holstein in 2001. The Caretino son demonstrated his scope at his performance test where he was placed second from his group with a jumping index of 138. He was considered with high hopes and as a result has been frequented often by the top breeders.
Casall's mother, Kira is from stamm 890, one of the most successful performance lines in Holstein breeding. From the same line come Eurocommerce Berlin, Crocodile Dandy, Cornelly and Cesano I & II. Casall's 1/2 brother, Clarence C was the Reserve Champion in 2005 and was sold for 250,000 to a stud in Spain. The grandmother of Casall, Maltia was bred to Lord and produced Taura who went onto produce 3 approved stallions. One of them is Ringo Star by Ricardo, who is successful in dressage to Pris St George and Intermediare.
In the sport arena Casall showed promise early on; as a 6 year old he won impressively at the National Championships with a 9.5 score. As an 8 year old he placed in many top shows including a 2ns place in the Youngster final of the CHIO Aachen. Casall is now ridden by Rolf-Goran Bengsston (Olympic individual Silver medalist at Beijing) and is now winning at 1.50 level. In 2009, only his first season at this level, Casall won his first grand Prix - Oslo and has since been runner-up at the Grand Prix of Gothenburg, won the 1.50m Kia Motors Grand Prix at the JBK Horse Show, placed 4th in the Rolex FEI World Cup in Stuttgart, won the 1.50m Stockholm Grand Prix and placed 2nd in the 1.60m Top 10 Final in Paris.
Casall is an exceptional stallion in performance and breeding.
Offspring
In breeding Casall is proving to be just as good. His foals are typey, have very good movement, and have been predominantly premium. In 2008 at the Holsteiner Verband elite mare test Casall was represented by 9 offspring and to date he has more than 10 licensed sons. In November 2009 his son Catch It was Reserve Champion at the Holstein stallion licensing and was subsequently sold at the auction for €450,000.
