Caletta decends from generations of proven international showjumpers. Her sire Celatto I was the most successful Nations Cup horse in 1985 and a member of the bronze team at the European Championships in Hickstead. His offspring have been remarkable in both sport and breeding. His most influential stallion sons are Cantus and Cambridge. Many licensed Caletto I sons have advanced in sport to the highest levels including Olympian and European Silver medalist Calvaro Z.
Caletta's dam sire Calypso II was himself also a grand prix showjumper and has been one of the most important sires in both Holstein and Hanover where he has produced international competitors as well as numerous influential breeding stallions such as Carbid, Coriolan and Contender.
In the third generation we see the Thoroughbred influence of Marlon - a truly gifted stallion, able to pass on tremendous ability in every Olympic discipline. In showjumping Mentor (Otto Becker), Mowgli Malva and Ma Soleil (Breido Count Rantzau) were highly successful. Marlon's approved stallion son Montevideo won team gold in dressage at the Los Angeles Olympics. In three-day eventing the Marlon son Milano was the 1975 German National Three Day Event Champion and another son Madrigal won individual bronze and team silver medals at the Montreal Olympics.
Caletta's full brother Clear Round successfully participated in international showjumping and now stands at stud in Italy. Her full sister Frieda has gone on to produce a string of elite horses including a fabulous daughter in the Netherlands which has produced three generations of mares already awarded Kuer Elite Sport Ster Pref. She also produced Rockella S who is competing internationally up to 1.60m level. Caletta's sister Akita Z (owned by Zangersheide) produced Queen Z (Quick Star) who jumped 1.50m and was successful in Nations Cups for Rodrigo Pessoa, and also Champagne Z (Caretano Z).
Caletta's grandmother Kerlis is a half sister to Ribecka (by Calypso I) who produced the licensed stallions and international showjumpers Accord I, II & III. Ribecka is also full sister to the licensed stallion Chicago. Kerlis, half sister to Verona (by Calypso II) produced the licensed stallion and international sporthorse Athletico as well as the licensed stallions Charisma I & II. Also from this performance lineage 7126 come such greats as Burggraaf, Acobat I - III, Aktionar I & II, Fra Diavolo, Larentino and Catango Z.
